You know now that I think about it, I understand the tea party saying "government is the problem" and all that mistrust of government, etc. They are on to something here. True when government is dictated by the titans of Wall St and Corporate America, then government is a problem not the problem. The problem is how Wall St works and lobbies to rig the system in their favor. If government was allowed to work right and wasnt filled at times with former lobbyists for Wall St and Corporate America we might have a fair and decent economy that works for everyone. So I agree government is a problem when in control of the rich and powerful. But it can be a force for good like during FDR's time. He used government as a bullwork to fight the "economic royalists" who ruined our economy leading to the Great Depression. He used government to create real jobs and gave unions the right to organize and empower the workers of this country to be a balance to the Corporate greed heads. Obama had that opportunity in jan of 2009 and he blew it. He could have stood up to the titans and sided with the real people who were hurt. He could have nationalized the banks, demanded that no one should be thrown out of their homes and implemented a FDR like jobs program that could have put us back on our feet. He "could have been a contender"!! Alas!!
