Message: <blockquote data-quote="vantexan" data-source="post: 5882135" data-attributes="member: 24302"><p>What in part?  The people participating in rush hour are either going to work from their homes or back home again from work.  You get on high speed rail at your city's station to go to next city station or beyond.  It doesn't drop you off locally.  Local subways are fine in a highly congested area.  But are impractical for suburbs.  Bus networks are fine but are nowhere near as efficient as a car.  And when you ship goods by high speed rail you still have to load them from trucks or offload them onto trucks.  It's much more efficient to use freight trains that can carry a lot more.</p></blockquote><p></p>
