My fiscal approach is that you do not buy something unless you can afford it. See below for a partial list of why I personally don't like Obamacare. Ad hoc experience: I have several friends who used Obamacare. Everyone's payments went up from 30% to over 100% over the last couple of years. National Debt: Most of the excess cost of Obamacare funding is paid by borrowing money and adding to the Financial Debt plus it still leaves many people uncovered. The US "pay"/borrows more than a Trillion dollars per year just to pay debt. Since Obamacare was implemented, the US Central Government annual budget deficit has increased by about $150 billion. Out current tax structure cannot support a National healthcare program. The US is going to have to go to a Fair Tax type program or to a European model. The US does not tax wealth either. There is too much "locked up" wealth in America that needs to be put back into the economy. Ideology: I find it reprehensible for the US Central Government to require people to buy Health insurance. Most people on Obamacare only buy it because it is subsidized by the the US tax payers ... which brings to question whether these "subsidized" people value healthcare. The intrusion of Obamacare into Medicare is a BS move to push the costs down to the states and out of the US Central Government budget. I don't believe the Central US Government has an authority to demand expenditures from States without funding them. This objection needs more expansive discussion but you get the gist. Reagan pulled this same BS while claiming he reduced the US Central Government budget. BS then and BS now. Just a "shell game". PS - I support a National healthcare Plan as most Western European countries have. We just need to produce the Revenue to pay for it.
