Last night, UPS (NYSE: UPS) was recognized by the Paralyzed Veterans of America (PVA) with a 2018 “Sustain: ABLE Award” at PVA’s annual Mission: ABLE Awards ceremony in Washington, D.C. The company was acknowledged for leadership and support of the Paralyzed Veterans of America mission, programs and services. UPS and PVA have collaborated on initiatives to better the lives of veterans since 1988. By the end of 2018, UPS committed to hiring 50,000 veterans and pledged to donate 50,000 employee volunteer hours helping veterans/Veterans Service Organizations (VSOs). In September 2016, UPS reached its 50,000 hiring goal -- two years earlier than planned. Since its pledge, UPS has hired more than 86,000 veterans and logged more than 183,000 volunteer hours for veteran connected activities.
