In every group there are people who are more clever than others. They come up with ideas that they capitalize on, make money with. The most successful ideas lead to wealth in our system because they are ideas that help others in various ways so that people are willing to pay for that product or service. So a segment of society prospers while at the same time getting those products and services to the public creates jobs so that others can meet their obligations. But there are those who are dissatisfied with this system. They see themselves as equals with those clever fellows and think it unfair that the ones creating goods and services are living better than they are. They devise ways to get that wealth for themselves and others. The very human emotion of envy. And to do this they exploit every crack in the system. Exploit historical wrongs. Play on people's fears. Create whole economic systems that purport to be just. And to be fair, humans being humans, those that do well under capitalism do tend to congregate together, set themselves apart as better because they have more money. This exacerbates the envy and leads to resentment. If you look at every historical culture most tend to have developed aristocracies that ultimately were overthrown as others wanted that wealth for themselves. Only now it appears that they want it on a global scale with demands that everyone be subservient to the state which will insure equality of outcomes. Everyone will do well. Has been tried. Doesn't work. But can't get that point across because these people are determined to make it work even if we're all miserable together. Only some won't be. They deserve better because they're the clever fellows who put all of this together. The new aristocracy. And somewhere in back rooms a new crop of clever fellows are plotting the next way to change the system to their benefit. To quote the great philosophers Sonny and Cher: "The beat goes on." Only difference is how many will die this time to implement the latest grand vision?
