Republican Rewrite of US Taxcode

I know it's early in the process and many more changes are sure to come but it doesn't appear that most of us will be able to file our tax forms on a postcard.

My CPA spouse will continue to have employment if she so chooses.

Whatever happened to lower tax rates and elimination of loopholes and right offs?

Seems the lobbyists are winning again.

I'm happy with what they released today.
I'll pay slightly less in taxes. Of course our national debt will go up by trillions, but who cares. Baby boomers screwed over my generation it's our turn to screw over the next generation. Murica!

The card 3 different people held up was more like a 5x7 card, not a post card and they said 90% of taxpayers will be able to fill out something that size.

I'm a big fan of flat tax but it will never happen.

now that this proposal is out the special interests will start muddying the waters, liberals will make bold claims that we are raising taxes for the poor ,

class warfare specialists will claim we are lining the pockets of the rich.

I'm kind of at a point made by Rand Paul. Politics being what it is find one thing most or all agree on and pass that.

In it's current form it adds 1.5 trillion to the debt over the next decade, I doubt it passes the senate like that.

The democrats are saying that doing away with the estate tax is for the rich.......think about it. If hubby & I are rich and we die and leave everything to our kids...........our kids aren't rich. They couldn't afford to pay taxes on stuff that was already taxed and paid by us. This double & triple taxing is not right. You don't punish folks for doing well.
Liquidating our stuff would involve a lot of work.

Sweetie, your kids would only pay tax on their inheritance over $10 million. They'll be fine.

Let's all feel sorry for the trust fund children that will only be multi-millionaires after their parents pass. They could be marginally richer if we repeal this tax. Great argument.
