Private insurance or choosing to take your chances and not have insurance was the American way before Odumbo.

Pretty soon they will start chosing the foods we can eat and the cars we can drive. It's sickening what is happening to our once GREAT nation.

im saying the 60% of americans that want to have single payer should be able to CHOOSE it, and the unenlightened minority can continue getting screwed over by the privatized corporate system.

why would you deny them the right to choose? and why isnt choice always extended to obvious things like this?

I'll accept that and can still easily, comfortably say that Reagan was a better POTUS, AND man then any liberal that has been POTUS or in ANY office in government.
why?

i think FDR is pretty cool: created social security, federal min wage, unemployment insurance all during a great depression 25% unemployment. 12 years as prez, would have been longer had he not died in office.

but i dont like giving presidents or so called "leaders" too much credit, becuase it is average people organizing and in the streets protesting which scares people in power to do the right thing.

60% don't want single payer. It would never pass an election.

Face it Canada BOY, you just don't understand that most Americans will chose freedom over security every day of the week.

regarding "CHOICE": that word is used when its beneficial for the rich, and that word is NOT used when its not beneficial for the rich. its rhetoric. theres no principle of "choice' in america...

Says the socialist Canadian boy-child.

the word "competition" and "free markets" used the exact same. competition and free markets when its profitable, and government assistance and protectionism when its not profitable. no principles.

what they really want is free markets for average people which means no safety net or government help at all.

One of the problems with this choice is that many end up in the emergency rooms where they are legaly entitled to be treated and stabilized. They walk out without paying the bill and the rest of us have to pay higher insurance costs and fees to cover their choice.

With a 3 month wait?

emergency is right away. drop in clinics are same day. some doctors are not drop in, you have to make an appointment and it could take a weeks, but if its emergency go to the emergency room. specialists take longer like for me right now i am waiting 1 or 2 months, but some are faster. i havent heard any stories of people not getting treatment and dying, and our health system is highly regarded amongst canadians, its not perfect though. theres a push to defund it saving hte rich taxes, and a push to privatize because rich people see money to be made. should be expected of any government run service which could be profitable. i know hospitals can have over crowding.

How about the massive waiting time Canada has with some procedures? Are we forgetting that? Convenient of you.

i have no idea, i know my dad had a tumor and htey cut it out rightaway. i had an ingrown toe and they cut it out fairly quickly. neither cost us anything.
