The feeder driver trainers are just like the on-road package car sups: most haven't figured out how bad they are getting screwed yet. Feeder driver trainer is the hardest job to get out of: once they know you can do it you will be doing it over and over and over and over and over again. You'll pray for a medical condition to disqualify you from your CDL. (I'm not picking on you, this is what our most senior trainer said to me on a ride after they dragged him back into it. He has more than 5 years to go till retirement.) I wouldn't be so sure about those open doors. Most companies admire UPS, but they don't run their company like ours. Even Fedex doesn't run their company our way and doesn't really want to (although they are struggling with that). Fedex Ground has spent millions getting rid of the former RPS managers and retraining UPS rejects to keep themselves out of court. I personally know someone there who won't be anything higher than what is our equivalent of a full time inside manager because he can't adjust and lose the UPS mentality. He isn't going to see the high side of $50k for a long time. The success after UPS stories are becoming the exception. Not a huge market for a "numbers chaser" as was dissected in the latest thread: https://www.browncafe.com/community/threads/riding-with-drivers.338523/ It's a shame really. Our strength has always been in our people, on both sides, and I fear our house is rotting from within.
