Seems like I should start looking for another job

What was your locals explanation for why you can not bump them out? Im assuming they are preferred position and they don't allow bumping once position is awarded.

The only thing my rep said was that's how it's been done over the years, across the country. My position was considered a preferred position at first, then was told about 4yrs ago that there are no more/ no such thing as a preferred postion, but still goes by seniority when the position needs covered for however long it needs to be.

Just sucks that I've already put my time in over the years unloading trailers and loading package cars and was finally able to use my seniority for a preferred position. Now after 15yrs of doing that job, my seniority doesn't mean cause now it's either load or unload and unfortunately my health isn't going to let me do either one. If I wanted to transfer to a different building I would totally understand why I couldn't bump someone but I have no choice cause my building is closing.

Thanks for the corporate insight. I'm a post Amazon and pre covid hire, so I always feel like I'm safe(sitting at 65% in my building) But that would change with feeders bumping into package. Any insight on Minneapolis?
