[QUOTE="soberups, post: 2615349, member: 14668"] I would call myself a centrist, not a right winger. I occupy a lonely spot on the political continuum. Conservatives hate me because I am a staunch supporter of gay rights, reproductive choice for women, separation of church and state, and decriminalization of drugs among other things. Liberals hate me because I am a staunch supporter of the 2nd Amendment, I own lots of guns they would love to ban, and I generally support the police and law and order. Following my conscience gains me few friends. But in this particular case the choice was rather stark: I had to choose between the well being of my gay sister, my transgender niece, my mixed-race cousins, the women in my life who value their reproductive freedom and their dignity as survivors of sexual abuse, and the well-being of our entire nation....versus the well being of my gun collection. Since none of my guns are registered and I had no intention of ever complying with any laws to turn them in anyway....the choice was a simple one. I held my nose and voted for Hillary. I puked in my mouth a little, but I did it. Now I am just praying that the GOP has enough dirt on Trump that they will impeach him once they are done using him. Pence is worse in many ways that Trump but from a standpoint of competence and fitness to have the launch codes I think we would all be safer with him in charge for the next 3 years 11 months and 20 days.
