Where do they post the schedule? And how do they explain working around the 5 consecutive day schedule? Your local should be pressuring them to hire more RPCD's to fill the need on Monday. The strongest case you have is the language in Article 22.4: "5. All 22.4 combination drivers shall be guaranteed eight (8) con- secutive hours of straight time pay per day, if reporting as sched- uled. All 22.4 combination drivers shall work a fve (5) consecutive day schedule of Tuesday through Saturday or Wednesday through Sunday. This paragraph shall supersede any Supplement, Rider, or Addendum on the same subject." That does not allow for a 22.4 to be scheduled to work Monday. The only place in the contract that I know of that says the company can force anyone to work extra is when the 70 hr rule is in effect. The counter-argument to that being that the contract doesn't say they can't force you to work on a day off. But you have to ignore the 5-day schedule language completely to make that work. They can force you to work up to 14 hour days on any scheduled day, but the contract says what it says. This is new territory, to an extent, it's up to you if you want to challenge what the company is doing based on the contract language. I don't think it's unreasonable to ask people to work an extra day from time to time, but to force it continuously is not reasonable.
