The 20% illusion

Just telling it like it is
One interesting note though is that the booklet that came out about it recently mentions that packages that contain alcohol will have their own service code instead of just being adult sign. I'm sure they won't be allowed to be driver released (lol)
Ground will release alcohol shipments w/o a signature. They've been doing it for years. It'll bite them in the ass someday.

The monkey on the left.
We have two different service code levels for signature required. 42 is for signature required while A8 is for adult signature required. Shipments of wine must be sent A8, which requires a signature by an individual 21 or older. Wine shipments, especially residential, are a pain in the butt as they cannot be driver released or indirected.

Big deal.
We have 3 different levels of "signature required".

We are unable to driver release adult signature required packages. No way around it in the scanner without forgery. Nice try though.

There's always a way around it. Not saying anybody should, but there's always a way. Control #'s, manual entering trk#'s. Everybody knows this. Even you.

not on the ground/hd side... either they didn't scan it correctly or forged it. even if you manually type the barcode/tracking number, it'll beep at you and pop-up "adult signature required" or "direct signature" or indirect...

upstate made a boo-boo?!? they surely have 3 types of signatures, similar to FedEx; he forgot to mention the direct vs indirect signature, independent of the adult signature

"either they didn't scan it correctly." What do you mean by that HD?

All the tricks in the scanner have been figured out by the programmers. No way around it any more. Only way is forgery or a hand sheet. If you hand sheet it as a driver release when it is not you will get disqualified or terminated for integrity issues.

The indirect signature is a delivery method, not a service code, so there are only two types of signature required service codes.

No need to be rude, people... Just explain it to him.

Indirect Signature for us means that a box either requires an in-person signature, signed note, or signed doortag for delivery. The last 3 digits of the numbers in parenthesis in a ground barcode are the 'service code' which determines how a box needs to be delivered(Direct, indirect, adult, etc).
