At the end of this month I'm self deporting. My sister and nieces are moving into my father's home while she is getting a divorce. Needs my room. I've found a very safe small city outside a major UNESCO site popular with tourists. Has over 1000 restaurants listed on Tripadvisor. Can get very good local food for $3 meals. Western food, and they have just about every cuisine there, is typically $5-$7. Very well stocked supermarkets with plenty of American goods. Over built town with new, modern apartments going for $35O or less a month. Seen nice studios going for $220. Getting a hotel room for $350 the first month. Won't say where this is because of a few people on this forum. But it's very real. They have a new airport too. Drawbacks are heat and not the best medical care. Nearby countries have excellent care though. This country is far enough ahead of Eastern time that I should sleep during the night. Have become a total night owl here. I'm figuring even with paying rent I'll come out ahead because it's so cheap to eat. It's ridiculous how expensive even eating fast food has become in the States. And they've invested in good, stable internet. So staying in touch with family not an issue. There's a fairly large expat community there and many locals speak English.
