Any thoughts gents? Watched it last night and I thought it was pretty good. Seems like a credible way why no body was found. Also I had no idea Hoffa was a Nixon supporter and was pardoned by him. Even though they're all ancient as hell it was cool to finally see De Niro, Pacino and Pesci in one movie together.

I thought it was good but was about 30-45 minutes too long.

I read the book and most of this movie is from it. The movie was hard to sit through.
But the second time we watched it it was better.
I think Pesci's performance was outstanding.. Ya you could see DeNiro's age was really showing. How stiff he was and when he was stomping that guy on the sidewalk we were laughing. Not the demonic DeNiro from Goodfellas LOL

Of course . By not paying off the parents with the proper amount of money to be quite.
  9. Wrong

    Wrong :))

Hoffa hated JFK and Robert Kennedy. When kennedy was shot Hoffa got pissed they lowered the flags to half staff at his office and order them raised.

Keep in mind the democrats sent him to prison.
  10. Richard Harrow

    Richard Harrow Deplorable.

Good writing, actors too old to play the roles they were cast for. The scene outside the grocery store was painfully bad.

Mostly fabricated. It’s Hollywood. Come on people.

just as in the book some things are hard to believe. most of this was taken from one mob associate , career criminal. career hitman etc.

    it's kinda like Forrest Gump.

this guy Sheeran delivered the guns for the Cuban rebels? he whacked out Joey Gallo? he was trusted by major mob bosses even though he was Irish?
he was instrumental in other major hits?
he whacked Hoffa and lived to tell about it?????

it's a good story and that's what it is .....a story. we will never know the truth.

There are some parts I believe.I believe the mob did help get JFK elected and then had him killed.I did believe the mob did try help get rid of Castro. And probably the mob did kill Hoffa because if he got back into power he would have thrown most of them out of the union and the casinos.

but if it is a true story it's the most fantastic one i ever heard.

Wasn't there an interview with Pacino and he said it was a good movie just 2 hours too long?

Yeah I thought the same thing, when I saw it I thought, "God... and to think this is the same guy who did the same moves when he kicked in Billy Batts face..." it was just so sad lol Marty shouldn't have taken that wide shot with it.

I really wanted to like it and I was really disappointed. Such a slog. Excellent story that was adapted very poorly.

Netflix didn't have the balls to tell Scorsese to shorten the film even though everyone who watched it knows he could have.

After the book came out, some show did a forensic crime scene analysis at the house where Sheeran said they killed Hoffa.
They pulled up floor boards and swabbed every inch for blood.
    They couldn't find anything. Inconclusive.

From what I read they found two blood stains. One they tested was still able to be tested and it wasn't his, but then there was another that was older and was unable to be tested because of its age that started from the door area and showed what would be consistent with a stain that would be from dragging a body out the back door.

Movie was to long and it was just ok. Nothing special IMO

I think there is some truth in it, but a think he probably inflated it a bit with some bs. But I wouldn't doubt that the mob had something to do with the Bay of Pigs and they could have ran guns, but I doubt it was Sheeran
