The Most Corrupt Administration

Because $12,000 is a laughable amount to be misconstrued as a bribe. Almost half a billion though? And the President has already set up a means to funnel the jet into his personal property?

Hmmm.
At what point does a dollar amount constitute a bribe?

I’d love to know.

Yes it will
No, it won't. It will either go to the Defense Department after his term ends or it will be put on display at his presidential library. The Ronald Reagan library has a plane on display. Under the emoluments clause of the Constitution he can't accept it as a personal gift without the consent of Congress.

Can you show me examples of the law not being enforced? He can't accept.it without Congressional approval as a personal gift. That's the law. He can use it in place of Air Force 1 because AF 1 is 40 years old and a new plane is needed and Boeing can't come up with a new plane. But at the end of his term it will either go to the Defense Department or to his library. Or may be kept for the next president to use.

I don't see the government shelling out the big bucks to upgrade that plane to Air Force 1 standards. Trump will just use it for photo ops and to make heads explode. The only people flying on it will probably be staff members or Congress critters trying to snag a free ride.

You may be right but I heard on FOX he's planning to use it.

Nothing wrong with that.
Especially since it was donated to the DoD.

And for those screaming about how much it would cost to convert it, my question: how much would it cost to buy the plane directly from Boeing AND outfit it?

Those are your tax dollars being saved.

Would it be cheaper to buy a Corvette or buy a Malibu and turn it into a Corvette?

Also, I would say the safety of the president is paramount to the nations success, saving money on Air Force One seems silly.

400 million dollar plame described as biggest corrupt deal in all of us history

More in Qatar/plane news:

Boeing inks record-breaking deal for Qatar Airways to buy up to 210 planes

5/14/25

"Boeing and Qatar Airways on Wednesday announced a deal for the Middle Eastern airline to buy up to 210 jets, notching the U.S. planemaker’s largest-ever order of widebody aircraft.

The order — the biggest in Qatar Airways’ history — includes 130 of Boeing’s 787 Dreamliners and 30 of its much-delayed 777-9s, with options for up to 50 more planes, the companies said in a press release.

Qatar Airways also signed an agreement with GE Aerospace for more than 400 engines to power the Boeing planes, those companies said in another joint release.

The purchase of widebody aircraft engines is the largest in GE Aerospace’s history, according to the release.

Boeing and Qatar Airways struck the agreement during President Donald Trump’s state visit with the emir of Qatar, part of the president’s four-day tour of the Middle East."

I do not believe any dollar amount would ever constitute a bribe at all. It’s a bad argument to begin with. That doesn’t eliminate the suspicion of foul play though. Trying to downplay people’s suspicions of the possibility a $400,000,000 aircraft that the president intends to keep might be a bribe by comparing it to a $12,000 gift is silly.
