I do not believe any dollar amount would ever constitute a bribe at all. It’s a bad argument to begin with. That doesn’t eliminate the suspicion of foul play though. Trying to downplay people’s suspicions of the possibility a $400,000,000 aircraft that the president intends to keep might be a bribe by comparing it to a $12,000 gift is silly.

I want to know at what point a gift becomes a problem.

I'm not a fan of the President's library getting this plane. I don't want us to take a gift from those people at all.

But the people having a problem with this are jumping to bribery solely on the excessive dollar amount of the gift.
And I don't believe that has anything to do with it.
