I want to know at what point a gift becomes a problem.

I'm not a fan of the President's library getting this plane. I don't want us to take a gift from those people at all.

But the people having a problem with this are jumping to bribery solely on the excessive dollar amount of the gift.
And I don't believe that has anything to do with it.

i’d say going round about methods to securing the gift is shady and that’s problematic. Why gift the plane to the tax payers so we can all shell out millions refitting the plane to Trump’s purposes then turn around and gift it to Trump as he leaves office?

It’s incredibly stupid and transparently corrupt for that alone. He shouldn’t be allowed to do this, the plane should remain property of the United States government if it is going to be accepted at all, which it shouldn’t be.
