Thanks to this guy (sort of), I found one of my most memorable finds of my metal detecting career. 50 years to the date of launch, I was out detectoring and got this really good signal. I dug down almost 12 inches and found a coin the size of a silver dollar. Really banged up from a mower and barely able to tell what it was.

After getting it home and cleaned up, I could see it looked like it was some type of token but it had reeded edge like a dollar coin. It wasn't silver and it wasn't gold. Got it cleaned up with some DIY electrolysis. That's when the real magic happened. The coin turned out to be a commemorative coin for the Gemini 10 launch July 18, 1966. As I mentioned, that day I found the coin was July 18, 2016. The coin turned out to be a cupro-nickel mix so not really worth anything, but immensely meaningful to me. 15517 coins were minted by Franklin Mint in this style.

Below is my coin.

Hot but crazy chick
Wow! She sat at the next table over from us at a small venue to see Ted Nugent just a couple of years ago.
