Early 60's
I haven't talked to him for a while because of the shift that he worked.

So I just sent a text out last night trying to get in touch with him and his wife replied back this morning did he passed away last month due to surgical complications.
That's all I know

It's probably about a year since I've spoken with him on the phone and he was talking about retiring.
I really I hope you had a chance at least retired for a minute.

Jackie Robinson died this day 1972.......unbelievable to me 50 years ago.

I read his biography a couple years ago.
An incredible courageous man.
He had his flaws as all of us do but he was the right man at the right time
to make (some) change in our country.

My children have a hard time believing the Jim Crow laws and the way things used to be.
When they see a movie like "Green Book " they ask if that was true.

Yes. and then I tell them the story about their grandfather who was a dark skinned Sicilian who had to
sit in the back of the bus down in Georgia.
