Message: <blockquote data-quote="vantexan" data-source="post: 6059143" data-attributes="member: 24302"><p>Because waiters make less than minimum wage while construction workers do much better by the hour per company pay.  Restaurants tend to not be very busy between lunch and dinner so if they pay waiters much higher hourly pay they'd either have to have waiters work part time hours or charge customers a lot more to keep the waiters around all day.  And no business owner likes giving workers money for not doing anything.</p></blockquote><p></p>
