Arguing about the civil rights and/or acceptable level of tolerance towards a marginalized group is an American pastime. Basically we’re spoiled and have to find something to argue about or punch down and isolate and further marginalize. We’re under no threat from transgender Americans but an enemy must be created to give conservatives a unifying project while their politicians work on dismantling liberal institutions and government programs that help our people.</blockquote>
