They won't let me quit parking cars

Before peak season started I said I would park cars for the building every morning since the person who previously did it would be cover driving. I have broken a mirror once and told them multiple times time and time again that I do NOT want to park these damn cars anymore (THEY CLAIMED I WOULD NOT BE DOING IT AFTER PEAK SEASON). I do not feel comfortable doing it and have filed grievance to the union who has done absolutely nothing to help me. Is there a way (other than wrecking again) to make them stop forcing me to do this. They say they I will be in trouble if I don't show up and it just doesn't make sense to me. Many people before me have quit doing it after a few days because they felt unsafe. Also I am not even near the lowest seniority... Please help.

That would be a shame. Given the conditions I see, that is an eventuality.

Take all the time you need. Usually a higher seniority job as there is little physical labor involved. I assume most all of your cars have power steering. If not take even longer. Always try to park from the drivers side.

Do anything to avoid another accident. When in doubt, secure vehicle, get out and check....a lot.

Our car washer who also spotted the trucks loved doing it. He said it gave him experience on how to drive a demolition derby car. Probably three days out of five I would have a sup drive my truck out of the building for me because it was literally parked against the next one over. Them sups can scratch the hell out of a truck and nothing happens to them.

Broken mirror? No big deal. The shop can put them in with their eyes shut. In fact, you actually helped the driver by giving him/her a clear piece of glass!

Tell them, (a full time sup) that you don't feel safe parking the cars. If they still make you do it, do it really slow as to make sure you don't get into another accident.

Are you PT or FT? As per the contract if there are FT employees available PTers are prohibited from moving package cars.
