Here's the shortcut to the big picture:

You thought you were hired into a permanent full time position (which may be what they told you).

They used you to cover their vacation needs.

They may be sending you down the road because their needs were covered.

You expected honesty from a company that demands honesty (above all else) from it's hourly employees.

They'll dump you like trash when they don't need you anymore and you have no union recourse so don't blame the union if you weren't a member of it.
