Well, accept what you will....or won't. Part-timers are just that. Part-time. What do you want? Even UPS part-timers have better benefits than most people in the world. Those lengthy progressions were negotiated BY THE UNION and voted on by the members. You were sold down the river by the Union and yourselves. Fact. Want more money? Get a full time job. Go someplace else and see what's out there. Plenty of places hiring.... Part-timers aren't meant to make $100k . Anywhere. Full stop. UPS goes away? You'll be at Amazon or FDX.......Post Office I suppose. Let that matriculate for a while.... The podcast mentioned was really talking about full-time employees. Why? Part-timers aren't supposed to be lifers.......they are so transient as to not be considered overall. I think most folks in the real world would have that sentiment. That being said........we all know part-timers are an essential function(at UPS). They ain't gonna make $40 per hour though. The podcast guy is a consultant. He "helps" Corporations. You work for a Corporation. Actually you are a contractor bound by a negotiated contract. This was made clear in '97. Without that contract....you will be out of a job. I think the consultant would have far more knowledge than anyone on BC and worth a listen. Shrug.
