There are arguments by many about exactly when Canada achieved sovereign nation status. Some have a date in the latter 19th century and some hold by two dates  in the 20th century and some crackpots like me believe Canada never achieved independence from The Royal Crown .  But there is no one holding the belief that Canada was a sovereign nation in 1812.  No one but you.</blockquote>
