That is an amazing concept. I wonder how lawyers would view it. Would they say something like, “Yes your honor. Technically Joe was involved in the insurrection and he should probably plead guilty but we are pleading not guilty because...well, because reality suggests that the law is based on semantics and that’s inconvenient for our defense.”
Never know with South Carolina Republicans. She could could end up having the same chronic problem with speaking her mind on Trump one minute and then suddenly backpedaling the next that Lindsey Graham does. Either way, she would of course need Trump's official blessing to gain meaningful support from the Republican base.
