I'm amazed at the pathetic arguments being made by some people on here. The Purpose and Context (P&C) of that JCOS letter was not for some liberal to "run through the streets", repeating a word or two to prove some stupid point.
The P&C was for Servicemembers to "put them on Notice" that anything other than loyalty to the Oath they took would not be acceptable and would be handled accordingly.
It was their (JCOS) effort at satisfying their Civilian bosses that they were in front of the "fear" of the military taking part in anything subversive or any other word you want to throw around... Not unlike Myanmar or some 3rdWC.
