As far as criminal prosecution, well, remember how history has a nasty little habit of repeating itself. One other matter that could prevent Trump from being prosecuted is the current lack of legal and historical precedent when it comes to how former presidents are treated following their departure from office. So if he take his "get out of jail free" medical card goes away quietly minds his P's and Q's he will fade away quickly and quietly But, given his past behavior I don't think he has any intention of doing that because he simply does know when it's time let go of the reins of power.
