These talks seem to just be a repeat of what North Korea does. They build weapons, make threats, negotiate for cash then break their end of the deal. I’m not impressed or hopeful with talks of denuclearization of NK. They need to talk about dissolving the regime and uniting the two countries like Germany was. Then we might have a Reagan moment and hope for those people stuck in oppression and poverty. If this deal is anything less it’ll just be another pay off towards terrorist with tax payer money. We don’t need more obama styled appeasement.

China doesn't want a unified Korea. The South would be integrating the North and that would put a US ally on their border.
At this point it's basically impossible to denuclearize North Korea. They have the knowledge and equipment to ramp up again as soon as they run out of money. They'd have to dismantle everything, agree to constant inspections and start free trade with other nations to stop the cycle of international blackmail. That would require too much freedom for the North Korean people for the regime to allow.

Hmm... So now the WH is saying that the meeting won't happen unless NK meets a bunch of strict pre-conditions? That sounds pretty much exactly like the old policy..
