Trump to meet with Kim Yong Un

That was all true before Trump accepted the offer to meet.
One of the pre-conditions of that meeting was that they gave up their nuclear arsenal. And NK vehemently opposed doing so. It's not like a meeting can't happen in the future now, but we're not the only nation that wants them to do this. It's best for South Korea. A nuclear strike in one of their major cities (SK) would kill tens of millions. It would be worse than nearly any US major city getting hurt depending on the size of the warhead.

The great negotiator failed? Go figure.

He did, but I think we’re going to be glad that he’s at least tried if a really bad war breaks out over the nuke issue in the future. History will at least show that we genuinely tried to talk before the entire region was torched.

An appropriate/realistic US concession to prevent hundreds of thousands or millions of people from dying in a big war might be to allow NK to possess nukes in a limited number but not be allowed to possess any ICBM tech. They’ve got the rockets and engines but they don’t have the warhead re-entry vehicle perfected yet. Would be great if they didn’t have either.

Interesting revisionist take. That was not a precondition. That was the point of the talks.

Trump the Great Negotiator:

Take my deal, or else.

This isn’t a real estate deal in NY where Trump can shaft his contractors and renege on his contracts.

It became pretty clear the Administration wasn’t very serious about negotiations when John Bolton recently mentioned the “Libya Model” as a way to proceed on North Korea. Yes, Trump publicy disagreed with that, but the cat had already been let out of the bag. And Trump and Bolton were probably winking at each other over it outside of public view.

Anybody with more brain power than a sea anemone would not have mentioned Libya in regard to the North Korea effort unless they intended to throw a wrench into the negotiation process.

I gotta say it's amazing that no one has used a nuclear warhead in nearly 80 years. The formula for making is that old and mostly unchanged.. Granted, acquiring that material is a hassle, but still.
I hope it doesn't happen, ever, but the next all-out war is gonna be hell. Half a billion lives really isn't a stretch, and it'd likely be closer to a billion.

I don't think so. People won't forget Obama's redline. Maybe the acorn stuff. Or Bush's WMDs in Iraq, Clinton trying to argue over the semantics of the word "Is", Reagan kicking the can down the road, Carter for being a worthless twit.
I think we can both agree, or maybe not me and you, that politics is a complete sham and utterly useless. With current and improving technology, we should be more free than ever as a people, as a person, to define our freedoms and our laws. The problem with that is, it also enables or gives rise to totalitarian govts that will never cede control. The old two-edged sword is what we are dealing with.

And also, let's not go down the rabbit of failed promises by politicians. That list is biblical in length. It's a sales tactic. And in another parallel to the bible, it doesn't have to be nor should it be a literally "wall." People just want our immigration policy to be strengthened and enforced.

THAT is exactly what the president did not say.

I’m game. But with 10 new lies every day, who’s gonna remember.

Just a reminder: Trump is why you don’t run a government like a business.
Everything's a business. You run your life like a business. You care about budgeting. You care about other people and allot them time. The govt can't just go about wasting money, printing money, etc. without consequences. And I honestly don't care about current events, but I don't my kids to have to deal with the lack of responsibility in my generation or past generations.

yet those brilliant people that understand foreign policy so much better then a Bolton cant seem to be smart enough to get elected to office.

and I am assuming by your argument that they couldn't get a job working for Obama, Bush, Clinton, or Bush yet they are so much smarter then anyone we have working foreign policy for us these past decades.

yet could not resolve the NK situation and instead allowed it to get worse.

And to make this argument you use the words of North Korea to discredit those we have working those jobs for us.

Is this spin argument of yours for political gain really thought out or on you a tight schedule that does not allow you to rationalize what you spew?

Is there ever a time where you will stop rooting against our country just to make a political argument?

I know. 25 feet high and and 3000 miles wide. The Great Wall of America. You'll see it from Mars one day.
The point is, Politicians are outright liars. They're salesmen who can't guarantee anything because they're ideas are judged by hundreds of other people taking bribes from lobbyists, corporations, Foreign govts (Hillary), etc.
Are things wrong in America, sure. But it's better off than 99% of the world. As a people, we are so spoiled, and take things for granted that would be a :censored2: miracle in a lot of countries. You feeling me, Will?
