Its what I mean about production. It is also against "their" safety agreement to the union workers. If its too hot, as we all know, then water consumption is a must, so is proper breaking. If someone feels the need to drink or rest a second, then do so. When I was in JOROTC we were pretty much forced to drink water all the time. The military knows the benefits of this aspect. Why doesnt UPS? The problem there is really supervision and management. If they want to yell and scream at people, then educate people that it is harassment and can be filed upon. Work in yours and others abilities, not theirs. Safety is the key word here. I am drinking to safely get my job done. I am resting for a few moments because of safety. Not to over heat, heat stroke and others in the name of safety. I know as you do, the heat is a huge issue. Humidity, temperature and hot machinery play their parts while working here at UPS. Do as you feel is right in the name of safety and all things will be right. If you, and others, feel your safety is compromised because of supervision and the latter choice of actions and words, then theres always a steward you can ask for. Also, ask for papers from them. For some reason, having that multi-colored paper on hand makes soups treat one like royalty.
