unfair business practice

In the USA you can purchase anything online from Canada $200 or less and pay no additional fees.
UPS Canada charges brokerage fees on anything over $20.Its a blatant money grab that is unfair
in that theres no warning about these fees unless you investigate first.A $100 guitar bought on E-bay becomes a $160 one after they add the brokerage, pst, gst, duty, brokerage gst.
The government of Canada is making millions from this as is UPS.Everyone I know refuses to use them anymore to buy things online.

q driver,
Thank you for the great reality check you listed above. We Americans are to quick to lose sight that gov't cost money, it's not free. It's real easy to extoll the virtues of a gov't program when you don't or won't take into account the taxes you pay or have confiscated from someone else to provide a program either you need or you believe everyone else needs.

Benevolence always turns to malevolence where gov't is concerned.

Want proof? Go ask a Bush supporter and they'll tell you of the grand virtues (benevolence) of our current administration while a Gore or Kerry support will give you a laundry list of it's evils (malevolence). Reverse the rolls and the reverse would be true. At the same time, either party takes your money to propel themselves higher, grander and more powerful and we just love it so!

Take heart q driver, America is fast on it's way to joining you and who knows we may even screw ourselves so bad you guys in the great white north might become the new superpower.

I'd like to see it happen as this country is in real need of a hard reality check IMO!

wkmac,
I`ve received another reality check, the provincial goverment is thinking of a $400 tax a year for "OLD AGE", money to pay for health care for the elderly patients in goverment care.

We pay for the old people in the states who whine that they need free perscription drugs while their bank and investment accounts bulge and they piss their money away in the slot machines at the Indian casinos.

You're the one that needs a reality check! I retired last Nov from UPS and my entire take hom is $581.04 per month. I was an admin. If I didn't have my prescription card, I don't know what I would do. One of my prescriptions costs over $1500 PER MONTH! That's just one of 30. You seem to have forgotten that not all people are rich. And most people get have a tendency to get sick as they get older. Some of us are just barely making ends meet. I can certainly understand why people go to Canada to get their prescriptions filled. There is something wrong when the prescription costs 5 times more than the doctor visit.

Im hopeful that one day everyone will have left Mexico and take residence in the USA. When that happens Ill head south with many other disgruntled former Americans and start over. It should be pretty easy, well just use the constitution, the USA isnt using it.

You are so right. One problem probably of many is that in America we are saddled solely with the R&D costs for these drugs whereas in other countries like Canada for example they are not priced into the consumer cost for the drug. I read in some countries it's even prohibited by law. I believe the drug companies have the right to recup their investment costs but everyone should share that burden not just Americans. JMO.

Let me know when the last one leaves as I'm packing right now and I'll be with ya! Better yet, let's just forget the Constitution and use the old Articles of Confederation as one of it's so-called short falls was it granted no taxing power to the federal gov't. After what we've been through the last 150 years that would be a very refreshing change!

It also would limit the amount of people coming down as they would have no mechanism to push our elected officials to create programs that take our money to waste and it would make it impossible for the elected officials to buy votes via gov't give away programs. Heaven at last!

I think if my retirement take home was $580 a month I would still be working.
