Message: <blockquote data-quote="Bagels" data-source="post: 1063572" data-attributes="member: 43436">You're not suppose to.  Courts have ruled that if an item being claimed as a business expense is being used-or can logically be used-for non-business purposes, then it cannot be written off.  In other words, if you were to pay for your UPS uniform, you could claim it on your taxes.  I, on the other hand, could not claim my street clothes that I wear for the Preload.  Since you use your cellphone for non-business calls, it cannot be deducted.  If you have a dedicated line for work, you could claim those charges, but if you made even one personal call from that line it'd come under question.That said, the odds of being audited and penalized over a cellphone are poor.  So unless you cheat your taxes in other ways, I wouldn't worry.</blockquote>
