UPS buys land for Mebane distribution center - Times News

United Parcel Service now owns about 185 acres in Mebane’s North Carolina Commerce Park to build a $262 million distribution center with 451 full-time jobs.

The company bought four parcels of land through Samet Corporation, which manages the industrial park between Interstate 40/85 and Sen. Ralph Scott Parkway that Alamance County and the cities of Mebane and Graham operate together, for about $9.4 million, according to the deed. The site is just north of the Walmart and Lidl distribution centers.

In August, the county and cities approved an incentives package for UPS including a $3.9 million cash grant over five years, waiving $150,000 in development fees and $490,000 in land.
