UPS Fuel Services, Inc. to begin operations
On March 11, UPS Fuel Services, Inc. officially will begin operations by depositing 25,000 barrels of diesel fuel into the Colonial Pipeline destined for Tennessee and Georgia. UPS Fuel Services was created to reduce diesel fuel cost by taking advantage of UPS's fuel purchasing economies. UPS Fuel Services will eventually ship and own diesel inventories in 12 terminals across the Southeast and will supply diesel fuel needs to surrounding districts. In 2003, UPS Fuel Services will supply seven Southeastern states, with plans to expand across the Midwest and Pacific in 2004.
