THIS. So sad but true. UPS has grown into a monster that sees itself as invulnerable to bad press. For all their flaws the only thing that keeps this company going is our union employees and representation. I know unloaders who take more pride in their work than some center manager's I have met. Some drivers are real s..tbags too who truly think they are super hotshots. I never was one of those. I was only on coverage but rarely ever met a customer who didn't like me because I showed them respect and a friendly face no matter how much I was angry/dying inside. Some drivers act like arrogant tools and take their bad day and in general poor decisions in life that led them to this job out on anyone who dares ask them to go an extra step or speaks to them for more than a split second. Sadly management doesn't discourage this whatsoever, in fact I have seen many in management on road be super huge d!cks right to customer's faces. I miss the customers actually because they'd brighten my day a bit by typically being glad to see me. Especially if they were a smoking hot female. That never hurt lol. Even though I felt like a turd monkey in a brown turd uniform in a dirty turd mobile, I never ruined someone else's day, no matter how demeaned and enslaved I typically felt.
