You were stuped (sic)? Or the company was stuped (sic)? And what does what boil down to?
A rebuttal of some type would be in order.
Always, Always, Always rebut an attempted discipline. No matter how small. Always rebut.A warning letter is nothing but a piece of paper. Its validity, or lack thereof, will be determined at the next step of the disciplinary process, which is a suspension. Many of the warning letters we see being issued today are nothing but an excercise in job justification for the supervisor who is simply trying to generate a sufficient volume of them to meet a quota. There is no reason to take them seriously as a threat to one's job security. It will ultimately be up to a grievance panel to determine whether or not the supposed infraction is worthy of any actual disciplinary action.

What's your point? Why would you do something deserving of a warning letter? What if the warning letter is deserved?

Oh, I see. In that case I would tuck my tail between my legs and lie low for a while. The OP said he did something extremely stuped (sic) so perhaps he deserved the warning letter.
What if the warning letter is deserved?
Went out the window when discipline became more about harassment than safety.Whatever happened to personal accountability?
