8 PM? I thought old people ate at around 4?
8 PM was the time Browncafe came back on here.............and the feast was the items I had gathered all day.

Fact...............I aim for dinner on the table each day 4-4:30. It's how I roll.....oh, rolls & butter, yum!

In CA. it's only smart to go out to dinner early. We never have to stand in line, wait for a table....what a waste of time that would be.

If you arrive at 4:40 or, someplaces don't open 'til 5 (the fancier ones) then you are seated right away. If you think you may not be hungry that early....just skip lunch. On days where we will be eating out, we have a coffee break for lunch. Hey, it works for us.

didn't say that. What I was referring to was TOS's claim of "In fact, profits were up for all business and wall street.". The only fact there is that TOS twists the truth. Yes, some businesses are doing better, but some businesses are no longer around. There are businesses going belly up everyday right now as there were back then. and there are still less people employed now than in '09.

Twists the truth?? Misrepresents the facts?? Seriously?

Starting in January 2007, this country went into a deep recession. GDP was negative every quarter for the last 2 years of BUSH's reign. Job losses averaged close to 750 thousand a month, manufacturing was at its lowest point in history, the housing bubble burst, the banking industry collapsed, wall street was crushed (14000 to 6800), unemployment went from 4% to 7.8%,the highest number of private sector job losses in history, we were in 2 wars, the deficit ballooned to 10.7 trillion dollars, the dollar was worthless against the euro, Bush was handing out bailouts left and right including a "stimulus" check to all american taxpayers.... fast forward..

And NOW you all want to say its WORSE off today than that??

Lets see:

1) manufacturing has increased for 2 straight years
2) unemployment is at 8.6% (less than 1% from where Obama started)
3) monthly job losses reduced to 355K from 750K
4) 22 months of higher private sector jobs created
5) Wall street is at 12700K and rising on consumer confidence and profits
6) 3 years of the highest profits in corporate american history
7) the housing market stabilized and correcting
8) new housing starts increasing
9) 1 war ended and another about to end in 6 months
10) 7 top terrorists killed
11) regime changes in 4 countries
12) low inflation
13) highest production of offshore oil in 10 years
14) the domestic auto industry saved through investment and payback
15) Healthcare reform for all americans and their children
16) Highest percentage of New business starts in 5 years
17) interest rates at LOWEST levels in history on mortgages
18) the US Dollar the strongest against the euro in a decade
19) GDP higher in every quarter since taking office!

And YOU want to say its worse today ?????

Get a grip.

Peace.

Fair enough but to say that all business is doing better is simply not true. Ask the folks who work for Kodak.

business is a matter of plus and minus. You and the others only want to take a few minuses and make that the standard while leaving out the trillions of wealth created. What about APPLE? Doesnt apple cancel out Kodak?

Peace.

Kodak was first in that new innovation.....but apparently they had a guy like Obama leading the co. and he didn't run with the digital tech...............probably kicked the can down the road on deciding what to do.

This shows your ignorance to a business operation. Kodak was way behind the curve on digital technology. The japanese were 10 years ahead of the kodak business model. Digital technology is killing a whole series of american manufacturing. Everything from books, newspapers and magazines are on a time table with death.

Digital readers are the future. Its only a matter of time before those industries are left in the dust.

To say OBAMA had anything to do with kodak is ridiculous at best. It was going to happen no matter who was president of the United States.

Peace.

You're the one that's being ignorant........Kodak was in on it early, not "way behind" as you said.

"Kodak did comprehend that digital photography was going to be huge. It jumped on the digital-camera bandwagon early. It was one of the top-selling brands in the late 1990s and early this century, when consumers first started to replace their 35mm point-and-shoots with digital models. In a market dominated by Canon, Nikon, Sony and other Japanese brands, it was the only U.S. camera company that managed any real success at all. (HP made digital cameras for a time, but exited the business in 2007.)"

I said they didn't run with it, but they had the technology early.

I never said Buck had anything to do with Kodak....I compared Buck's way of leading to the Kodak's head in not picking up the ball and running with it. Pay attention.....there's no reading stuff into the words that are written. (Maybe you should read post#11 again)

I like how the liberal media conveniently included seasonal jobs in their latest reporting of job growth. So, ALL IS WELL! ALL HALE OBAMA! The Mesiah has saved us all. The double dip has been stopped! LOL!

Your housing imagination is tremendous.....dream on!!

You continue to CONTRADICT yourself. You posted a chart/graph showing BUSH's unemployment at 7.8%, youve been corrected on this many times, yet, you continue to post a lower number of unemployment as if thats correct.

Even Newt gingrich knows how to lie. In the debate the other night, HE, like you moreluck, misrepresented the unemployment rates for both carter and reagan.

Newt said "during president carter, we saw unemployment go to 10%"..this is NOT TRUE. It was true if NEWT was talking about Michigan at the time, but he twisted the facts. Nationally, the unemployment rate never exceeded 7.1% but was higher in states like michigan individually.

What newt then said was reagan came in and fixed the economy. Well, thats not true either. Reagan took office at 7.1% and by the end of his second year in office, unemployment hit 10.7%! Thats a fact moreluck.

It took reagan the rest of his 6 years to get unemployment back to where he started and he left office at 6.8%. That isnt a success story. He managed to make it WORSE then get it back to where he started in 8 years. He then created another recession and left a deficit of over 3.7 trillion for the first time in history.

Obama is going to get back to where he started by election time with unemployment, and the next 4 years will see better days for americans and the unemployment rate wil drop back into the mid 6's.

That success. It takes time, and we may not like the wait, but the train is heading in the right direction.

Peace.
