when the union starts on PT freight dockworker?

I worked yestarday 2,5 hours and my friend told me , you in the union so they will pay you always 20 hours even if you would worked 5 hours in the week
how long i have to be the union so they will pay me like that?

You will never get paid like that. You get paid what you work, if you show up to work and they try and send you home, you will get your 4 hours unless they told you before you come in. The latest I was ever called off was 25 mins before my shift, which i live 5 minutes away not a big deal, but my sup tries to have us part timers work as much as possible

look in the back of the contract no more 4 hr show up pay. we gave them 2 hrs back as a good gesture.
