This region, this religion if you will has a history of internal disagreements, conflicts and even war so yes, if we get out of the middle of this whole mess I do believe this history of conflict will settle in from time to time as a way of life. This is another reason where the west were just idiots to introduce weaponry of any kind in the region but it just goes to show how both western interests as well as former communist block leaders China and Russia all jockey/jockeyed to exploit this region for it's natural resources for it's own purposes. We may all one day pay dearly for allowing our leaders to make such national choices. This natural internal conflict is also why, left completely isolated to their own, their ability on their own to organize into a cohesive force for some global domination is all but impossible. Even when they had the Ottoman Empire, they were never a global threat in real terms and even then over the history of the empire, there were internal conflicts where parties were sent away from the supper table for some timeout in their rooms. As you mentioned Gaza, this also is a major bone of contention obviously but I recently ran across an interesting piece published by "Jews for Justice in the Middle East" concerning the history and region in this part of the world. Very fascinating and educational IMO and I'm very appreciatve of their efforts and others who bring a lesser voice forward in the shrill that is called public discussion these days. My thanks also to Alison Weir for her courage.
