the Republican super power continues to be how they all pull in the same direction on these kinds of stories. republicans don’t care about government corruption at all, they supported trump a man whose taxes they never saw, a man who didn’t divest from his businesses while he was president, a man whose properties were whose paying guest included foreign governments and corporations giving money directly to trump. Democrats are a corporatist party for the most part, they have milquetoast political leadership, their political messaging is terrible, and as a result they aren’t even competitive in certain states, and as a result in many states with large democratic voters, they elect Republican senators and governors, democrats frequently go along with terrible Republican policies. Remember a lot of democrats supported the war on terror and the Iraq war, hell Obama a politician I generally like had agreed to Republican desires to cut social security to reach some grand bargain on taxes.
The Democratic Party is a party trying to represent the demographically changing America, while still putting a bunch of middle age to elderly rich white politicians out front whose political messaging doesn’t excite anyone, the Democratic Party doesn’t push unionization enough this a huge blown opportunity but that’s why they are a corporatist party, they don’t pro actively enforce anti discrimination laws in housing and employment. I could go on. The Democratic Party has huge issues, but the Republican Party is insane. Like objectively insane. And republicans in general hate black people.
