184 gallons of heating oil at 19.8 cents a gallon equals $37.89. That’s outrageous.

When I started driving car insurance was not mandatory.
gas was 25 cents a gallon ( age 12 )
TV was free
Water was free
Rent was $160 for a 2 bedroom apt.

When I was a kid a coke was 10 cents ( you got 2 cents back on bottle )
a 3 Musketeers bar was 5 cents
so was a pack of baseball cards.
comic books were 10 cents
I would make $1 for mowing the neighbors grass and thought I was RICH!
school lunch was 35 cents

When I was in high school I was making $1 an hour at my part time job
A six pack of Miller was $1.75
A 12 inch pizza was $1.50
A movie ticket was $1

College tuition was $300 a semester ( State college )
$4 gas would be enough for a week.
McDonalds cheeseburgers were 19 cents, fries 10 cents
Was making $2.50 an hour pumping gas

My first car was a 1965 VW bug that I bought for $50
Worked at a summer camp after graduating from high school and earned $100 for 8 weeks ( plus room and board )
