50% MIP, 12k employees being cut

she didn't say how much of that 12k is management, but presumably a bunch of people will get cut (most likely on road, this has been the plan for literally years)

she blames our revenue, which is down over LY sure but it's still beating pre-COVID which is the true measure of things

tl;dr is "we overstaffed for what we thought would be the new normal in the [strongest economy in history], whoopsie doopsie that wasn't true, you're fired thanks for your service"

Glad I have my union job and follow the rules. The guys that are cutting corners and taking chances might want to get it together.

Anything "Christians" do or say to you lefties is already branded cultish.

More than likely the (redundant) 12 K will be all Non Union…We all seen this before with they previous realignments, the cut a lot of the bottom feeders but never got to the corporate levels. Still a lot of those high level partners hanging around doing something.

The Newest Corporate concept is to eliminate ( departments) rather than individual employees because everyone affected will cry “victim hood”. Offer them jobs in operations where they would not cut it or if possible demote them to a position that will make them leave, because in their minds it is beneath them.

As with most companies and corporations those so-called executive levels are filled with entitled employees who actually believe they are worth their overinflated salaries and perks. Most of them are in total denial on why they were placed into those positions in the first place. Expect a lot of back stabbing once this new and improved “Better not Bigger” concept takes affect.

I wonder if the OMS’s and Non Union Office Specialist are part of the 12 K targeted?

Or is it a given, low 🍎..
Wouldn’t shock me, even though they actually do more than the On Roads do now. Seriously don’t know why we need so many of them when they basically do nothing but sit in planning meetings for two hours, then push paperwork until the drivers leave. Then after that they’re looking for lunch and gone by 1:30 2 o’clock with their computers taken home sitting on the couch watching everything.

I don’t know if they are the prime target. Most are part time, low salary employees, a good, smart OMS could practically run the operations better than a Manager. They do not get MIP stock also.. they are after bigger game this time.

Did we lose any money? Or we just made less? LOL....
Maybe we should cut the company size to half and be a startup again. Open grocery/retail stores.

Non union but also non management jobs like clerical will probably be the first to go. PT sups are also very disposable.

I know. That all they teach at MBA schools. Business 101: make less money? Layoff people until you make more money.
Growing revenues in tough times? Only genius who did not go to business school can do that.

The growth in e-commerce and shipping will continue to grow, not like during the pandemic years though. The public has that Amazon Habit now of getting it now and it will not go away. It is now a matter on which Common Carriers will get a bigger piece of the pie.
