Its nice to see the republicans trying so hard to start a grass root movement.

While its amuzing to see how many republicans are still still tweaked that they lost the election, and by the looks of the general appearance of the signs, it appears that most of the people there didnt even know why there their in the first place.

Is it a tea party? Is it a speak out against health care? Is it a rally against big spending? Is it just a republican rally?

It appears the only goal in mind is to try and convince the general public that in 2010, they want control back of the house and senate.

Good luck with that one.

A good waste of 700K peoples time and energy.

The majority of americans in this country are like a giant elephant, they NEVER FORGET.

There will always be those 49 million yahoo's who voted for McCain who will still show up at a rally like this, but its still 49 million, not the majority of americans.

This rally is a far cry from the grass roots movement that ousted the republicans from office.

I can appreciate all the participation from the right wing sponsors, Fox news and the RNC, but it will not affect the mid term elections.

The country is headed in the right direction and it will only get better.

Sorry.

Well lets see how they figured the inaugural numbers:

See those two roads running at an angle to the Capitol? At least one of those was full. The last pic from my original post is looking at the front of all three of those main areas, taken from out front of the Capitol. Keep your head in the sand if you want.

Interesting how the above scale was so relevant when citing Obamas inaugeration crowd but yet is discounted for this event.

It takes a lot more then 60 K to fill those streets up. I don't know if we got a million though.

the effort by the left to discount and diminish the opposition continues.

From those pictures, It looks more like 40-50,000.

Still a lot of crazy in one place.

I grew up less than a mile from the Indianapolis Motor Speedway. Twice a year a crowd of over 400,000 people attends both the Indianapolis 500 and Brickyard 400(beginning in 1994). I have become accustomed to seeing large crowds and can tell the difference between the 40k-70k you libs are claiming versus the 1 million(give or take a hundred thousand) that are there. Sorry, but your numbers are way underrated.

I can only laugh at the entire Republican party and their followers.

On one hand, they claim to be protesting the "wasteful" spending of the Obama Administration and the need to cut off the purse strings on wasteful spending.

On the other hand, its ok to leave garbage by the tons all over the washington DC area and the "BILL" for that cleanup left for all the taxpayers to pay for.

What hypocrisy. The Republican party is a joke and the useless arguments are getting old.

How many millions will it cost taxpayers to clean up after this rally?

I guess its ok to burden the taxpayers who didnt support this kind of party with the bill to clean it up.

Sore losers..

Nine years after Florida, conservatives still can't count.....

Hope you'all enjoyed that unintentionally ironic sign convention, or whatever it was.

**I wonder why the fella brought a No American Protestant Christian Flag in the third pic down to the rally to protest Gov't. spending /taxation ???? What's the message there ?

It's a real shame that these obvious large numbers of protestors dedicated to good economic policy and opposing the massive expanding of gov't have just landed on planet earth over the last few months. Could their voices have been effective and were needed over the last 8 years!

I'll let President Bush tell you how he really feels about small, limited and fiscally repsonsible gov't!

I think you are wrong here. There were plenty of people in opposition to all these increases from both parties and their massive spending. One of my favorite signs of the day was "No Child Left a Dime".

If you like it so much then why is it the stuff you fabricate and post here is always one sided misinformation?

Go back to cash for clunkers, for example :
That was a waste !

And, I believe on 1 thread, I even accused Obama of being a bit racist himself.

I'm in the middle....

accusing his administration of leading the United States down the road to socialism.
What exactly is it that you believe his administration is doing to lead the U. S. down the road to collective ownership of the means of production?

Are you aware that General Motors begged the government for financial help, and that the government isn't actually operating the day to day affairs of the company?

Sitting around decades waiting for a giant American corporation to beg for financial help doesn't sound to me like an aggressive socialist plan to make the American people owners, operators and beneficiaries of the means of production.

We went from simply loaning GM money to having ownership in GM. First it was the government getting to pick board members for GM and Chrysler, next it was politicians trying to use government ownership in GM to keep warehouses and factories open in their districts. Operating day to day affairs is not much of a stretch from where we are today.

.

That is pitiful. I assume you think that if I asked you to rob a bank and you did it would somehow be my fault.

Of course we know the government is operating the day to day affairs of the company. They tell them what cars to make, what standard they must build their factories to, who they can hire, how they must negotiate with their employees, how they can loan money to their customers and every other aspect of their day to day operations.
