They say ports around the world will all be a cluster friend once the traffic jam is broken. Apparently the "because of Covid" excuse was getting old so they had to come up with a new reason shipping stuff has become such a hassle in the last year or so.

Better stock up on toilet paper again. They say this will most likely cause a shortage.

10% of the world's goods travel through the Suez canal that is currently blocked by a shipwrecked cargo ship. This might not be resolved for a couple weeks.

I know how to solve this. Just convince the BLM people that this is open for looting. Within an hour all those containers will be emptied and the ship will float again. Damn--I'm brilliant.
Or let the scavengers in with their fleet of old trucks and in less than a day everything will be cut up and off to the recyclers.

If it wasn't mechanical malfunction, what was it?

Was there a mutiny on board?
Did terrorists board the ship and intentionally ground it?

I'm out of ideas.
