I think that most owners of bitcoin are here for the beanie baby effect.

Given the volatility of AlLL cryptos…..I’d say there’s a heavy presence across the board. But that has nothing to do with me or my confidence in my own investment.

Litecoin has the same primary codebase as Bitcoin, faster block time, cheaper transaction fees, and more decentralized mining pools.

That is discussed in the book as well. The BTC network is older, bigger, and offers more incentive for people to use it. Both “inside” (miners) and out (store of value and transact). Had some of these alt coins come out first we may be both praising them right now.

If this was genuinely about superior technology and the evolution of finance, things like that would matter to the Maxis.

For many Bitcoiners, it’s all about store of value. The superior technology aspect is important in that regard. Being a “Maxi” tends to reach more into the type of people who are wanting to, or already, use it for daily transactions. Thats not me.

I haven’t needed lightning for anything since I only “hodl” so I don’t know if that’s good or bad. I do knowthat Coinbase has some of the highest fees for purchasing.

Coinbase isn’t bad if you have higher volume purchasing.

Most other exchanges have a hard time competing with their spread.

I’m not sure if the average Joe is moving high volume. I’m not. So it’s silly to pay Coinbase that much AND a membership fee to boot. I like how some of the BTC only exchanges encourage self custody and allow automatic withdraws to our wallets. There’s a newer exchange that actually requires it.
