class action lawsuit against UPS

I would if I ever had a year where I didn't earn it. How about you? I'm sure you took advantage of the opportunity to earn bonuses off of others labor? Have you given any back?

I am not in mgmnt so no bonuses. I am one of those guys who makes mgmnt look good so they can "earn" their bonus. :thumbup1:

Once again Tieguy it is shockingly obivious how little you seem to grasp of what real work is and like I said over the years of service to this company this small token amount of money is not going to change anyones life so you keep on supervising or whatever it is you do to not "harm" the company meanwhile us grunts will take what has been offered thank you very much:w00t:
You know Dave if you really feel feel comfortable taking this money then there is no reason for you to get torked up, is there? Did I strike a nerve?

Ah so if I understand you correctly here you have a management job where in your opinion you could set back, do nothing and collect bonuses off of others hard work and yet you decided to hump cardboard instead?

Gee wiz , I don't know wally , something don't smell right there:laugh:

I worked at UPS for nearly 28 years and never filed a grievance; those that did seemed to be chronic malcontents and often complained about everything. I did notice that management personnel that grumbled and made waves were escorted to the nearest crap pile, there to work out their careers in despair.
I only filed one in 22 1/2 yrs. The day it was won, the center manager was moved. Coincidence? And I was on vaca. Didnt even go to the hearing.

Little touchy there hotshot. I refuse to sell my soul to the corporate world. If you chose to do so, go for it, and good luck. Methinks the job may be getting to you though. I've seen dozens with your bitterness and attitude burn out. Hard to keep that "hate fire" burning. I bet you are a joy to work for.....

"Don't throw rocks at somebody with a machine gun"

Actually I'm trying to stay away from the rocks and machine guns all together but for some reason Dave and now lefinbuilding are trying to take this discussion to a more personal level using the "I'm taking the money because Tieguy is a thief" logic.

So back on track we go.

Class action system is screwed up because a few are allowed to draw the entire group into a lawsuit. The majority when drawn in do not have to enroll in the lawsuit nor do they have to prove they were harmed or list damages in any way.

Is there anyone out there who was actually harmed by the lunch issue. Anyone who if they collected 3000 dollars of this class action contrived money actually lost 3000 dollars worth of meals? Anyone who then exercised their contractual right to be heard through grievances and still lost 3000 dollars worth of meals?

Anyone at all?

And if that subject is too touchy what do you think the impact of lawsuits like this will be on the residents of California. California is already viewed as one of the most anti-business states in the country. Many business that do not have to locate in california will avoid the state. Many have left the state. I believe that crisis is what propelled the terminator to the governorship. When I see gas prices quoted nationally California is always a dollar more then what I am paying for it. ( must be that home brew)

My point is that the ups money is signed dealed and delivered but the effects of cases like this will cost california residents much more in the long run.

I realize the issue makes those of you living in the state uncomfortable but thats not my intent though I have been known to fire back when someone tries to take this harvard debate into the gutter. Some of you did brag about taking the money and I tried to understand how you justify it within your own personal belief system.

If you can't discuss it without getting personal then why participate? Just move on to something that mentally is less stressing. :thumbup1:

Over 33 years. Never filed a grievance. Non confrontational, face to face talks seems to resolve most problems.
Good for you, I tried, face to face doesnt work when you had incompetent mgmt. They told me I could wait a month for funeral pay, not acceptable, but I tried I waited 3 wks. Had they been sincere, I would have let it go. Non caring arrogance was all I got. BTW I won. so Should have I let it go? Not.

Typical . You jump in unprovoked and then start crying when the game gets a little rough. Use your above advice on yourself and you would not have anything to complain about.

Actually, your response to my original post took me a little off guard. It was a legitimate question after reading your reactions to this lawsuit. Your in-your-face reaction speaks more eloquently than your words. You have a nice evening now, and watch that blood pressure. We are all concerned about you. Oh, btw, I disputed my original $3200.00 "bonus". Looking at maybe three times that amount. Nighty night.

You aren't serious here are you Tie? It sounds like you were telling someone not to take this discussion personally? I think you have been quoted in this very thread calling people stupid, and thieves.

Wouldn't you call that getting personal?

in this forum.

Good for you . Perhaps you would like to take the challenge?

Were you denied 9900 dollars worth of meals?

Did you grieve this loss and were you denied.

If not how do you reconcile it with your own beliefs in integrity.
