Getting my Wisdom teeth removed isn't an excused absence?

I went to the dentist in January and they recommended that I get my wisdom teeth taken out. However, I went to see a specialist in May. They said that when i was having trouble sleeping through the night because of the pain (which I am now) that it would be time to remove the teeth. My vacation is not for a month and a half and my teeth really hurt. So I asked my sup if I bring in an oral surgeon's note if my absence would not count against me. She said no they will count. Is this true and how can they expect you to come to work when you are taking pain medicine for your teeth? Is my boss the only boss at UPS that thinks that way?
Is your name Daryl?

Mine popped out very easily. I had 3 pulled years apart and still have one left. Only one of those was pulled because it might cause problems later.

Only the first one was bad but that was because it was infected. The dentist couldn't pull it until the infection cleared up.

This only supports the "all four" side of the debate. Why would anyone want to go through what you went through?

Two of my wisdom teeth were impacted...after I woke up, they only handed me three teeth.

The fourth was smashed to bits...the only way they could get it out.

No sense in keeping them - you don't need wisdom teeth.

If they're going in, get them all taken out.

Wisdom teeth are like appendixes and pinky toes...eventually we will evolve out of them.
