Next Stage experiment coming again(we tried this a year ago) Starting next week Every package that isn't FO/PO/SO(business) so all SO(resi) and P2 is going to ground. Lets see how it goes... if it works we'll all be part time.

Where's this intel coming from?

What's up with the 5pm commit times?

Came from our management, later commits probably allow ground to make the commits.
We tried this about a year ago "final mile" or whatever they were calling it. Ground would get saver packages, not sure how many they got delivered but we'd get a truck load the next day they didn't deliver.

That's not just routes abandonment. That's an area where they closed an Express Station. Ttku.....
Just one case of poor service and bad publicity piled on top of another and another and another They'll continue to shine the spotlight on those contractors that are operating in the most favorable environments . That being warmer climates with flatter terrain, a modern highway system with high population density and high per capita consumption.

The farther you the contractor are from that operating environment the harder it becomes to survive especially if you're running on borrowed money.

Going forward FDX will be the second or third choice of shipping options and only for those willing to take the risk .

It will be fine

So what? The contractor walked, that’s where the problem is. I’m not sure if you’ve heard but there will be no distinction between Express and Ground soon. It’s called One FedEx, you should look it up.

Ground seems to be in decline, lots of trucks still for sale, Patton s rally produced new videos another pushing the bread route idea, another for line haul said when competing with Walmart you will have to take less qualified drivers, what encouragement for contractors.

FedEx seems to think there's a difference and trying to put the blame on the contractor. Customers are paying FedEx not the contractor or their drivers. Ultimately the responsibility goes to FedEx and the brand just keeps tanking with more of these failures. It's just the beginning......

And eventually it will be their end.
