How much money can you make off sales leads?

They used to really push it. I turned in over 30 in a few years time. Few sold but had about $200 on a AmEx card. Bought my kids a Wii with it. Used to see our sales rep daily in our building. You could talk to her and she was a shark out there. She really pursued the leads. I could even call her cell if something came up with one of my current customers. Yeah, the geniuses in charge moved her out of BD. The new guy showed up to our center a few times and then vanished. Sales leads used to be discussed at least weekly in PCM's. Now everyone is scrambling just to leave the building by 930. Guess we don't need new business. Lol

Last lead I turned in I received $1.23 for it. No joke.
Yeah same thing with me I got about 3 dollars or something. Then I turned in another and when I checked it on upsers I got "already is a shipper" nonsense because the rep took it from me and that was the last time I turned in a sales lead 7 years ago.

Also, the selling of a lead is done through "Inside Sales" which is a UPS telemarketing center, and not done locally, I've found.

I turn them in only when someone comes to me asking for info. I agree that is not anywhere close to want it used to be. I knew guys who would take their family on vacation with what they'd earn from them, not anymore.

Your compensation for turning in sales leads will be paid in overtime on your paycheck. More pickups mean you'll be working later each day because UPS won't put in any extra routes.

I have gone over and beyond many many times during my many years at UPS. I don't do sales leads however. There have been times when the pressure was on that my supervisor would turn sales leads in in my name, but unless I go into BD, I will not participate in that bull nackey.

They've changed the dang program AT LEAST 3 times in as many years. How are you supposed to accumulate "points" if the stupid thing keeps changing?

One of our drivers was able to pick up a major account that would ship NDA internationals in and out of china, and around the whole US.

Can you believe he got screwed on it? Yeah, no big surprise there. They refused to allow him any credit for the account, and basically told him to screw off when he tried to get a resolution on it for making the company so much money on that account.
